Do I need to know how to play mahjong to come?

Open play is best for players who know the basics, so we recommend taking Mahj 101 first and Mahj 102 for added confidence. When possible, we’ll pair players by experience level.
What forms of payment do you accept?

We are a credit and debit card only venue. We do not accept cash. All bookings are paid in advance online.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

Reservations may be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice at no charge.

What if my group is short a player?

No problem — we'll seat you with other players to complete your table for open play sessions. Just let us know when you book.
Can I bring food or drinks?

Outside food and drinks are not permitted, but we offer a selection of light snacks, non-alcoholic beverages, wine, and curated cocktails for you to enjoy.

Should I bring my own NMJL card?

Bring your own NMJL card. They are available for purchase if you forget yours.

Booking & Cancellation Policies

Reservations may be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice at no charge.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled event are non-refundable.

No-shows forfeit the reservation and any fees paid.

Book a single seat and we'll fill the table, or reserve a full table for your group.
All sessions — open play, classes, and events — are paid at the time of booking. Your seat isn't held without payment.

House Rules

The Bamboo Room is designed to be a welcoming, focused, elevated experience. A few ground rules help us keep it that way.

No Cell Phones on the Gaming Floor

Please keep phones silenced and out of sight while at the tables. If you need to take a call or send a text, we ask that you step into the lounge area. We’re here to play.
No Children Under 10

The Bamboo Room is an adult-focused environment. Children under 10 are not permitted on the gaming floor. We want every guest — and every table — to have a great experience.
Card Payments Only

We are a cashless venue. Credit and debit cards only. All sessions are booked and paid in advance.
Respect the Table

We welcome players of all levels. Patience and kindness at the table are non-negotiable. We reserve the right to ask guests who are disruptive to leave.
Please Arrive on Time

Sessions start on time. Late arrivals may not be seated if the session has begun. No-shows forfeit their session without credit.
Private Events

All private events require advance booking and a deposit. Decor, outside vendors, and catering subject to prior approval. See our Events page for details.
