OUR STORY

Born out of obsession.
Built for everyone.

The Bamboo Room didn't start with a business plan. It started with a mother, a game, and a daughter who couldn't stop thinking about tiles.

BOOK A TABLE WITH US

A game this good shouldn’t
be kept behind locked doors.

One of our founders grew up watching mahjong around kitchen tables, but it wasn’t until she picked up all 144 tiles herself that she understood the magic. Twelve sets later, she’ll admit: it got out of hand in the best way.

What started as a personal obsession became a shared mission. After a three-generational intro-to-mahjong party — grandmothers teaching daughters teaching granddaughters — one question remained: why doesn’t Fort Worth have a place like this?

A beautiful place. An elevated place.

A place where the game belongs to everyone who loves it.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

Our Values

We believe in access.

Mahjong is too good a game to be kept behind locked doors. We exist to make it available — and enjoyable — for everyone.

We honor the game.

Mahjong is ancient, rich, and endlessly interesting. We take it seriously — while making sure you have fun.

We curate obsessively.

Every tile on our shelves, every detail of our space is thoughtfully selected to feel like it was made for you.

We build community.

You can come alone and leave with friends. The Bamboo Room is where tables connect people, not just players.

We welcome beginners.

We remember what it felt like to not know where to put our hands. Our space is patient, judgment-free, and safe to learn.

We are Fort Worth.

We're proud to plant this flag in our city — collaborating with local artists and becoming part of Fort Worth's cultural fabric.

Designed to feel like the best room in the city.

Every table, every tile, every detail has been chosen with intention.
